Martha Davis Senior Consultant
Dr. Martha Davis is a Senior Consultant at Atrium Economics with over 20 years of experience providing consulting, advisory, and regulatory expert witness services to energy and utility companies. She is also a professor of Business & Finance teaching advanced business analytics, corporate finance, and management at Baker University. Previously, Dr. Davis served as VP Content for Informa’s Energy Group, which included leading a number of award-winning energy-focused publications: T&D World, Utility Analytics Institute, Utility Products, TransmissionHub, EnergyTech & Distributed Energy. She has also held various executive, regulatory & government affairs positions in the utilities sector, working on energy policy & utilities issues in states such as Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, & Maine. Martha served as a Policy Analyst at the Missouri Public Service Commission for eight years and was exposed to multiple facets of energy policy. She was instrumental in implementing the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act which fundamentally changed the cost-recovery framework and incentivizes investor-owned utilities to invest in demand-side programs. Martha also has experience working with the Missouri State Legislature, serving the Senate Appropriations Committee where she managed a $1.3B annual budget and as the legislative liaison for the MO Department of Revenue taxation division. She also has Capitol Hill experience, serving for MO Rep. Ike Skelton in his Washington, DC office.
Martha is active in the energy industry as well as her community. In 2017, she completed the Leadership Missouri Program through the MO Chamber of Commerce. She previously served as a Board Member & Officer of the MO Association of Natural Gas Operators (MANGO); Advisory Board Member of the Financial Research Institute (FRI) at the University of Missouri-Columbia; and participated in the Missouri Governor’s Comprehensive State Energy Plan (CSEP) Working Groups for Energy Distribution & Storage; Energy Usage; and Energy Pricing & Rate Setting. She has also been active in various Missouri Energy Development Association (MEDA) committees.
